Tonya Harding and "The Understudy"
Isn't this hilarious, guys? Did you watch Tonya Harding during the 1994 Winter Olympics in Lillehammer, Norway? After missing the opening jump in her program she asked the referee for permission to find a new lace.
Do you recognize the Seinfeld episode partly based on Tonya Harding's - let's say "interesting" - career?

Stand-Up Comedian, Actress, Writer and Producer Susie Essman
Susie Essman has been a veteran of the world of stand up comedy for twenty-five years. She has appeared in her own half-hour HBO comedy special, made numerous appearances on Late Night with Conan O’Brien, The View, and Crank Yankers, to name just a few of her many television credits. She has also acted in numerous films, most recently costarring with John Travolta as the voice of Mittens the Cat in the Disney animated movie Bolt.
Susie has played the sassy Susie Greene for all eight seasons of the Larry David's hilarious comedy series Curb Your Enthusiasm. Her hilarious bouts of withering sarcasm and uninhibited insults have become her character’s trademark, and her streetwise vernacular is perfectly suited for her life in Manhattan, where she has been a veteran of the world of stand-up comedy for 25 years.
At the podium, Essman shares with audiences the story of her tough road to comedy stardom, both as a woman breaking barriers in a male dominated industry; and having that same career pull her out of a debilitating and suicidal depression.
As a working mother and celebrity, Essman connects with audiences who share very similar everyday issues including the trials of parenting teenagers, the onset of menopause, dealing with elderly parents, and finding love later in life that came with a built-in family of five. Essman of course takes audiences behind the scenes of Curb Your Enthusiasm, revealing hilarious stories about Larry David, her onscreen husband Jeff Garlin and what it’s like to play the potty-mouthed Susie Greene fans love. Essman’s comedic wit and razor sharp tongue will have audiences roaring in the aisles and her very raw accounts will connect with them in ways they never thought possible.

Jason's New Rug
Jason Alexander has got himself a semi-permanent rug. Here's how he explains it on his Twitter account:
Since a significant number of you have asked about my new head, I thought I'd share what's going on. I decided to make the change for a combination of professional and practical reasons.
The way my hair has receded in the last two years was best defined as "dorky". I started balding at age 17 and after first being sad, I really embraced it. I was always cast older than my actual age which generally meant better roles. And for the most part, the way I was balding always looked kinda good or good enough to my eye and more importantly, to my wife's eye. But most recently, the look lost any kind of impression other than purely comical. I"m happy to be able to sport that kind of look for characters but I didn't want it to be the only kind of characters I could be considered for.
Also, there was a practical element -- onstage and even to a degree on film, my head had become a big beacon, reflecting light in a very obvious and distracting way.
My wife and I discussed it and came up with 3 options - do nothing and accept it; shave my head (but I thought that might limit my castability even more) or put some hair back.
I thought about grafts or implants but frankly didn't trust the results would be good enough and also wanted to retain the option of playing truly bald characters. So I began looking for a hair system.
What you see on my head is a really good, semi-permanent hairpiece. By semi-permanent I mean that I can wear it constantly for weeks at a time, if I so choose. I can swim, shower, work out -- whatever. It stays on. Or I can take it off any time of any day I choose. The reason it looks thin is that I challenged my designer to make me a piece that would look very similar to the way I did 10 years ago. So, it looks like a guy who is losing his hair and isn't an artificial mop of hair that I never had. The designer was dubious at first but he actually loves the look now. And the fact is that we are still playing around with the shape and density to make it as flattering and natural looking as we can.
In a few weeks, I may very well talk about who makes this system so that you can pursue it with them if you wish. But in general, for those men and women who have hair loss issues, I can tell you that these systems have become very easy to wear, very easy to handle and the adhesives that have developed give you great flexibility in regard to how often and how long you wear your system.
You will likely see me wearing my hair more often than not in public but I have no shame in being seen as little old me, either. What I don't want to do is draw a ton of attention to it by wearing it one day and not the next. If you see it often enough, your eye just adjusts to it and you really don't notice.
So yes, I'm still bald and yes, just like others in my profession who have to either wear make-up or dye their hair or undergo surgery, I now do a little something. It's honestly no big deal for me and hope it's not for you either.
Thus endeth the hair mystery and hopefully answers the questions of those who were curious.

Your favourite Jason Alexander moment in Seinfeld

For Jason Alexander, nine seasons as hapless schlep George Costanza on NBC’s multi award winning sitcom Seinfeld have been the crowning glory to a 20 year career on stage, screen and television. With looks that can be pitiful, sympathetic, charming, devious, and even unscrupulous – combined with an equally malleable talent – this multi-Award-winning actor is in little danger of being stereotyped, however.
What's your favourite Jason Alexander moment in Seinfeld?

Jerry Seinfeld Launches New Homepage: www.jerryseinfeld.com
Jerry Seinfeld has Launched a new Homepage: www.jerryseinfeld.com. Jerry Seinfeld - Personal Archives is basically nothing more than three clips from his stand up shows, changing every day. Jerry's Tour Dates are hidden in a link in the bottom right corner for some reason. The Jerry Seinfeld - Personal Archives is very disappointing as it is now, not giving his fans much to cheer about. The clips are funny and interesting, but the site it empty and weak. You have to give us more than this, Jerry.

The Bottle Deposit - now for real
The "Seinfeld" episode "The Bottle Deposit" from Season 7 features Kramer and Newman taking thousands of cans and bottles to Michigan so they can get a nickel more per container than they would in New York. Now it has happened for real again..
Michigan Law prohibits the return of bottles from out of state. In addition any bottle returns made cannot be in excess of $25. According to Newman and Kramer they had a total of $1000 in bottle returns.
In Maine three people have been accused of illegally cashing in more than 100,000 out-of-state bottles and cans for deposits, the first time criminal charges have been filed in the state over bottle-refund fraud, a prosecutor said. A couple that runs a Maine redemption center and a Massachusetts man were indicted this week for allegedly redeeming beverage containers in Maine that were bought in other states.
An estimated 90 million cans and bottles are fraudulently cashed in each year in Maine, costing beverage distributors $8 million to $10 million, said Newell Augur, executive director of the Maine Beverage Association.
In September 2007, a 15-person operation was busted for illegally smuggling millions of beverage containers from other states and cashing the deposit in Michigan. Police found over $500,000 in cash. Unlike Kramer's scheme, the operation sold the cans to merchants at a discount, who then redeemed them for full value.

More make up sex, please
Did you know that one of the classic translation bloopers in Norwegian television history is from the Seinfeld show ("The Postponement")? "Make up sex" was translated with "sminkesex", where the words "make up" (reconcile) were translated as if they meant "make-up" (beautify, put on make-up).
