It's Christmas time, but not for Frank Costanza. In the episode The Strike (season 9, ep. 165) we learn about Festivus, the holiday George's father invented as an alternative for celebrating Christmas with all it's commercial aspects. At H&H Bagels (where Kramer works for a brief period of time before he starts a new strike), Frank tells Kramer about how it all started: " Many Christmases ago, I went to buy a doll for my son. I reached for the last one they had, but so did another man. As I rained blows upon him, I realized there had to be another way."
